One of the best places to view and safely photograph trains in
Cartersville is located on North Public square which runs parallel
with CSX's mainline from West Main Street (hwy 61, 113, 293) to
west Church Street.

There is public parking lots on either side of the mainline and the
old depot is now a visitors center/museum.

Also N.Railroad Street runs parallel with the mainline and has
several places along it to safely park and take some great
pictures.

Cartersville is located along CSX's busy Atlanta to Chattanooga
main line  approx 43 miles north of Atlanta and approx 79 miles
south of Chattanooga TN and sees up to 35-40 trains in a 24
hour period.
