Railfanning Folkston Georgia

Florida on CSX'S heavily traveled mainline thru the Folkston

The old Folkston Depot now a museum is located just across
the track from the Railfan platform.
The platform is equipped with a scanner, electrical outlets, and
nighttime lighting making it a great place to railfan from.
Folkston Georgia is located on US Highways 23 and 301 in
southeast Georgia approximately 6 to 10 miles north of the
Florida state line, 40 miles north of Jacksonville Florida, 39
miles southwest of the Jessup Georgia railfan platform.

The platform is located in downtown Folkston at 103 N. First
St. and is an extensive covered platform for viewing and
photographing up to 60 trains a day on CSX'S double track
mainline.

The platform is equipped with a scanner, electrical outlets,
nighttime
lighting .
